AirAsia LCCT to Kuala Lumpur (KL) City by KLIA Transit

Because of Air Asia low fare tickets, now I used to take flight to Kuala Lumpur (KL) instead of using the bus service. Most of my friends commended that Air Asia flight arrive at Low Cost Carrier Terminal (LCCT) and it is quite a distance from KL city. But since many years ago, the transportation to KL become so convenient and there are few options include KLIA transit train to LCCT, bus service and taxi. Among all the options, I preferred KLIA transit train, an economical while comfortable way to KL. Here is my experience taking this public transport.

KLIA Transit

Upon entering the LCCT arrival hall, a row of ticketing counter is at our right while the luggage collection conveyor would be at our left. Among the counter, we could easily notice the KLIA Transit ticketing counter with its sharp purple colour sign. Just check with the counter to know the schedule. We shall get the ticket purchased before leave the arrival hall. I'm having an experience where I planned to buy the ticket after took my lunch at KFC, right in front of the arrival gate. But later I was stopped by the police who duties at the gate. After explained and shown my boarding bass, luckily he allowed me to re-enter the arrival hall to purchase the ticket or I might need to take a cab already.

The KLIA Transit to LCCT provide the service to deliver us to few stations include Putrajaya & Cyberjaya, Bandar Tasik Selatan and KL Sentral. Bandar Tasik Selatan and KL Sentral are both interchange points of several MRT lines and KTM Komuter. Ticket to Putrajaya & Cyberjaya is RM 5.50, Bandar Tasik Selatan at RM 10.80 and KL Sentral at RM 12.50.

This is receipt but not ticket ya..
When we purchase the KLIA Transit ticket, we would be provided with a bus ticket and train ticket. Why? This is because the KLIA Transit train station is not within the LCCT compound but a distance away from the airport. But no worry, the package is including the bus service to travel us to the train station named as Salak Tinggi. The journey from airport to Salak Tinggi station would be around 20 to 30 minutes, depending on the traffic.

Salak Tinggi Station
At Salak Tinggi station, just wait for a KLIA Transit train to come. For our safety purpose, always make ourselves behind the yellow line. We could notice that there is another non-stop train which travel in high speed. It is KLIA Ekspres train that transfer passenger from KLIA directly to KL Sentral.

When the KLIA Transit train is arrived and fully stop, press the button on the door to open it. Then pick your seat and enjoy the journey to your destination. Remember to press the button too before we could go out from the train after reaching the destination.

For return trip, we could travel in the same way by moving towards to Salak Tinggi station. But remember to inform the ticketing counter that we are travelling to LCCT so that they could issue us both train and bus ticket. This is because the bus ticket is not sell separately.

Hope the above information being useful to first time traveller.
