The Manhattan Bangkok Hotel - reachable by BTS

Bangkok is an international city full with hotels that scattered everywhere. Unless you require a luxury accommodation or you could easily get a comfortable stay in star hotel at economic rates. For my trip, I booked The Manhattan Bangkok Hotel this round through Booking.com. Although this old hotel only rated as 3 star, but it gained very positive comments from the guests through hotel reviews.

Whenever I choose hotel, I always stick to my principle where it must gained positive comment from the guest where hotel & room cleanliness is at good condition. The room rates must within my budget and shall close to the public transport station. Free breakfast in the package would definitely help me to finalize my booking. All the criteria stated above are just nicely met when I found The Manhattan Bangkok hotel though the websites.

The Manhattan Bangkok Hotel is located at 13 Sukhumvit 15 Road and can be reached by BTS, whether from Nana Station or Asok Station. We booked the Superior Double Room for 4 nights stay and it only cost us around 6500 Baht (smart deal). Of course, breakfast was included into the package. The hotel is having the outdoor swimming pool, gym room, spa, Thai massage service. Free wifi is available within the hotel.

As per our request during booking, we were given a non-smoking room at 9th floor. As mentioned earlier, this is an old hotel so that accessing the room is still using the 'key'. But like common hotel, the 'key chain' is designed as activator for room power supply, for energy saving purpose.

The room key
The room is relatively big as compared to the hotels we stayed before in other countries. According to the websites, the Superior room we booked is at 28m sq. The room was clean and tidy up as expected. Below are some snapshots on the room condition.

The bathroom is not big but is fitted with a bathtub. The shower is quite powerful, and of course ready with both cold and hot water system.

There was two complimentary 'glass' bottle of drinking water being given out everyday, together with instant coffee and tea sachet. Surprisingly we did received a complimentary fruit from the management on the next day, nice!

The breakfast was served at Broadway Coffee Shop located in ground floor, just at the left when you enter the hotel lobby.

The food variety not really much but was sufficient to give us choices before start our daily trip. The buffet breakfast served include fried egg, sausage, omelet, toasted bread, fried rice & noodle, bread, miso soup, sushi, kimchi, fruits and etc. Overall, the food was tasty and we love it very much.

Here I would like to share how to get to this hotel from BTS station because we were facing the language gap with the locals that pointing us to wrong direction. Supposing from Nana BTS station to this hotel is around 5-10 minutes but we took around half an hour to reach, some more in raining night.

In fact, to reach The Manhattan Bangkok Hotel, you could take BTS to Nana or Asok station. The MRT also could reach by stop at Sukhumvit station. The Sukhumvit and Asok are within same location but not linked to each other. If you reached at Nana station, then please follow the signboard (Manhattan Hotel) to exit at Exit 3. While you walked down the stairs and reached the road, turn left (if facing road) and look for Soi 15 Sukhumvit Road. If you reach Asok station, then you would see the Terminal 21 Shopping Mall. Follow the Exit 5 (if not mistaken) and follow the staircase, you will see The Westin Hotel. Turn left (if facing Westin Hotel) and look for the Soi 15 Sukhumvit Road. Both ways would take you roughly 5-10 minutes to reach the hotel. Oh ya, the hotel is opposite with Four Points by Sheraton Hotel at Soi 15 Sukhumvit Road.

In overall, we have a nice stay at The Manhattan Bangkok Hotel and will still prefer it as our accommodation for next Bangkok visit.
